My students completed Unit 4 this week in Wilson Fundations. In this unit they learned about
the bonus letters f, l, & s. If a word has one vowel immediately followed by an f, l, or s at the end, that consonant is doubled. Such as puff, hill, and miss. We also worked with the glued sound "all."
Students also continued to work on phonics skills as well as reading fluency and comprehension.

Character Counts Gym Night

Elizabeth Ide Elementary School held its 6th annual Gym Night on Friday, October 16th. This event has been very popular with students for the past few years. Students are split into teams and participate in thirteen different stations. Some stations include: bowling, rock climbing, rope climbing, bean bag toss, dancing and arts and crafts.
This year we raised $715 that will be used for our school's Character Counts education program. Literature, teacher handbooks, assemblies, supplies and incentives are bought with the proceeds raised yearly.
Here are some great pictures from the night!
