2nd Grade Math:
Today we took the Chapter 16 test on Patterning. My students did very well with this concept. When we get back from Spring Break we will begin our next chapter on Measurement.

Week of March 15th - 19th
2nd Grade Math
This week in Math we completed our chapter on plane figures. We had our test this past Wednesday. We started our next chapter on patterns on Thursday.
1st Grade Reading
We continue to work on Unit 10 of the Wilson Fundations program. In this unit we are working on blending words with 5 sounds. The children have been doing great with this! I am very impressed with their progress!

Week of March 8th - 11th
2nd Grade Math
This week we took our chapter test on 3-dimensional figures. We also started on our next chapter. We will continue to focus on shapes. Concepts covered will include: lines of symmetry, congruent shapes and sliding, flipping and turning shapes.

Parent Teacher Conferences
It was wonderful to see many of you at Parent/Teacher conferences this week!

This week we completed our chapter on solid figures. On Friday we started working on Chapter 15 on solid figures and spatial shapes.
1st Grade Reading
My students started Unit 9 in the Wilson Fundations program this week. This unit focuses on closed syllables. They learned that closed syllables only have one vowel, the vowel is closed in by one or more consonants and the vowel sound is short. Trick words for this week include: over, our, would, after, also
Afternoon Math
We continue to work with both addition and subtraction.
