Week of October 25th - 29th

2nd Grade Math
This week we are working on two digit addition. We began addition by learning how to regroups ones for tens. Keep practicing those math facts at home!

1st Grade Reading
We will have our Unit 3 test on Friday. Next week we will begin Unit 4 of the Wilson Fundations program. In this unit we will work on the ff, ll, ss bonus letter rule. At the end of a one syllable word, if the word has one vowel immediately followed by an f, l or s at the end, double that consonant. The extra f, l or s is considered a bonus letter because it is extra. It does not make a sound. The word miss, for example has 3 sounds since the bonus letter s does not make a sound. Examples: hill, miss, puff

2nd Grade Reading
I did not meet with my 2nd grade Reading groups due to MAPS testing. Instead I am assisting with the test that all 2nd graders take in the computer lab. We will resume Unit 2 of our Wilson Fundations program next week.
